Pinot Blanc

Pinot Blanc 2022
A wine with a clean and varietal character, straw-yellow in color. Distinct aromas of green apple, pear, white flowers, and herbs (lemon balm) are noticeable. The scent of ripe, sweet lemon adds juiciness and clarity to the overall profile.
On the palate, pronounced minerality reflects the character of the vineyard’s limestone soils. The wine leaves an impression of crisp green apple freshness, mirabelle plum sweetness, and bright acidity, rounded out by extended aging on the lees.
Vinification
The wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks. Unfiltered.Aging
Aged for 9 months in stainless steel tanks on gross lees.Soil
Primarily limestone-marl with elements of sand (slope and plateau of the hill).Location
A parcel with a south-western exposure (altitude approx. 130–180 m a.s.l.).Vintage
A fairly late start to the season (budburst around April 27), with a cool beginning and moderately warm conditions during the growing season gave the wine low alcohol and pronounced acidity. A hailstorm on July 13 reduced the yield, particularly on the steep slope of the Dobre hill. A challenging September with cool and rainy conditions followed by a relatively warm October required intensive work in grape selection, but ultimately brought good aromatic ripeness and balanced yields. Wines have excellent parameters for long aging.Food Pairing Suggestions
